Monday, February 10: Bell Ringer - What taxes do people, including you, have to pay?
Students learn how to calculate the amount of taxes paid and the different types of tax structures.
Tuesday, February 11: Bell Ringer - If you earn $45,000 a year, how much would you pay in taxes? What is your marginal rate? What is your effective rate?
Students reviewed the different tax structures and how to calculate income tax. Then they learned the differences between banks, credit unions, checking accounts, and savings accounts. They also learned about the different parts of a check and how to use an account register.

Students learned about credit scores, what the "formula" is that determine's one's credit score, and the relationship between credit scores and the interest offered on a loan.

Students learned how to calculate the monthly payment on a loan where they own amortized interest.

Students learned about the 3 C's of Credit: Capacity, Character, and Collateral. Lending institutions use these characteristics when determining whether to approve or deny a loan.
Wednesday, February 19: Bell Ringer - What are the 3 C's of Credit?
Students finished the 3 C's of credit and presented their loan situations.
Thursday, February 20: Bell Ringer - List one advantage and one disadvantage of using credit.
Students learned how to protect their identity using the 3 D's of ID Theft: Detect, Defend, Deter. They also learned what to do if their identity has been stolen.
